About

Born in Guangzhou, artist Feng Hanting graduated from the Oil Painting Department's Fifth Studio at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2008 and currently resides in Guangzhou. Her work spans various mediums, including installations, photography, and painting. Her paintings focus on subjects such as plants, fruits, clothing, and various seemingly mundane objects, imbuing them with a serene simplicity that exudes a classical charm, but she infuses her works with a wild spirit through her raw lines and enigmatic colors. Feng Hanting's art consistently maintains an emotionally charged, seemingly girlish quality that is both difficult to put into words and vibrant in nature. This mixture of warmth and heartache has continually guided her creative process. The apparent naivety in her paintings originate from the genuine emotions that everyone has experienced, allowing those who consider themselves worldly and mature to rediscover their inner selves. Literature and film have also always influenced her creation. She once designed the cover for the complete works of the French novelist Jean-Philippe Toussaint.

Her major exhibition experiences include: Solo Exhibition:“Pearl," Bonacon Gallery, Guangzhou, China(2019).Group Exhibitions: "A Bulk of Future,"1979 Gallery, Shenzhen, China (2023);“Don't Kill Me I'm in Love! - A Tribute to Huang Xiaopeng," Times Museum, Guangzhou, China(2021).
