Li Ke, born in 1997 in Changde, currently works and lives in Hangzhou. He graduated from the Fourth Studio of the Oil Painting Department at the China Academy of Art. Li Ke's works start from a sense of reality, creating and discussing what lingers above our current sense of reality. He approaches the composition of historical consciousness through Romanticism and Nihilism, forming the context of his creative thought. He believes that art, as part of social activities, essentially breathes between aesthetic sense and sense of reality. Thus, he intervenes in the gap between these sensations through painting, video, installations, and project planning—exhaling aesthetics, inhaling reality, or inhaling aesthetics, exhaling reality.
