Once moving, now stationary, the punk bookstore embodies qualities that seem to be diametrically opposed.
In the few years since my returning to the studio, it’s these two qualities precisely that have left me with the deepest impressions,
At times emerging alternately, at others existing in unison, still, there’s no madness there, no sense of any contradiction.
Like a child, secretly raising weird creatures in the house: secretive, radical, immersive, narcissistic…
Sitting on the edge of a well, staring into the black,
A colossal unknowing abounds,
Refusing vacancy with naïveté.
In a sense, the punk bookstore embodies a certain “spirit”, a state of being that at present I aspire to align myself with more closely.
